Hello.

Today, I called to get a quote for a Vintage Air unit and Installation for a non A/C car. I was quoted $3,500.00 (unit + installation)

Most people that have installed Vintage Air themselves say that it's simple and straight forward. And, I'm aware that the Unit costs between 1000-1500.

Is $2,000 a justifiable charge for the labor?

NO ITS NOT!! the install is failry straight forward. someoone with limited experience could install it in a few hours or so. the only thing you wont be able to do is evacuate the system. this you can have done at a local dealership. just leave the belt off and drive it to the dealer. put the belt on and have them evacuate and recharge the system. should cost around 150$ to do it at the dealer.

I knew $2000.00 for installation seemed outrageous.
I just needed an educated opinion on that. Thank you so much!

the 2 people I know that installed theirs, did it themselves, had never done it before and they paid just at $1000 for the unit....

"installed" , I think a fair price would be $1900-2000 , parts plus labor
