Ask John Leland (hammered) about the heads he shipped FedEx.
UPS, so ya know where they are the whole transit time. I'm kinda bias since I work for'em. Let me know if ya need tips on packing those. I hate to see items like that get damaged.

yes, but Tom ,he asked "most economical way" ....seems like UPS is generally 30% higher...I GET alot by UPS, great tracking, but I ship everything FedEx , closer to their place, but also ca 30% less , think their tracking is as good... got my heads shipped from NY via FedEx, sent my other heads to SF via FedEx ,no problem,....Greyhound will also work
If you have your own FedEx account you can name the weight. As long as you are kind of close it will fly. I've sent heads to and from Texas for $35 a piece. I box them separately.

Sounds about right , I paid $40 /ea for the shpping from NY
I wouldn't ship via DHL personally. They seem to damage a lot more than Fed Ex or UPS.
When I shipped the last set of heads, I took a piece of scrap 3/8" plywood and cut it larger than the footprint of the heads. I drilled 4 holes in it and than used large zip ties to fasten the head to it. Than just boxed it up normally. Kept it from doing any shifting in the box and potentially tearing out. The buyer sent a note saying he appreciated the extra efford in shipping prep. They came through with 0 damage.

I think heads are doing the damage rather than getting damaged on their trips in the UPS/FedEx/DHL trucks. I take some heavy cardboard and roll them up in it for a few layers. I sent some to 8Point that way. Before I knew he was 8Point.

DHL use to be Airborne. They were one rough outfit, and still are IMO.
That was one of the tips I was going to pass along for shipping heavy items cat. It also helps if the carton is breached to keep the critical surface from damage. One other tip, never use peanut foam like the shipper of the pair of heads I got. Also box them separately.

i see alot saying dhl is worse on damageing items,i think they are all the same.i have used ups and dhl and they are about tied for damageing items.i ship alot of items per week so i have alot of experience.the best is the post office priority mail for things not getting damaged.just my experience.
