Hi, Can anyone look at these pics and tell me if dash pad is correct. I think it is suppose to have indention where bezel meets it. This one does not. Tom has been helping with this, hope he is watching. It has no place 4 grommets at top.
I think Robert is onto something. Can you provide us with a picture of the entire dash pad. I know it's not a factory '69 pad. Aftermarket??? The pad you have Steve may be for '67-8. Help me out here guys, but I think there's even a difference in the '67 and '68 pad.
the 67 - 68 dashpads are straight across the entire length of the dash
the 67 is only horizontal the 68 has the vertical arms the 69 is similar to the 68 but has a raised portion at the drivers side (from the right side of the radio to the left side where the light switch are)
I'm thinkin' ya have a '68 dash Steve. I needed to confirm the vertical arms and the lip in the center of the dash for the '69 bezel. Thanks 32, that crappy ascii drawing gets the point across!
I have confirmed it to be a '68 dash pad. oh well, While putting dash pad and cluster on hold, I was looking for number ID's today. Only numbers on axle I can find are 9795105 and on top of that j268. All casting #. I understand the date code but I was looking for ZE or ZF or what ever, as I have a 400 auto, no air car. PHS docs. say Saf-T-track. Could not locate this. Also should you be able to see tranny # with tranny in car. Exhaust and so forth in way, was looking on right hand side for tag. Is this correct? Thanks again, as I am sure these have been answered a 100 times !!
Axle codes are on left hand tube, within 2" or so left of inboard brake line clip, usually right around the level of the brake line or slightly above. Shallow stamping, you'll need to be sure the tube is scraped clean to find it if scaly.

Thanks Vikki, I will look tomorrow for code. By the way, what is code on your 69, for our cars are almost identical. Mine is W1 color, yours W2 and you have a/c. Only Dif. YC if I am reading correct ? Thanks
I ment to say ZC in prev. post. But after futher investation, you are correct, ZE or ZF for no air car. Interesting to know, ship dates on our cars are 19 day apart !! Thanks
