Some friends of mine and I are discussing front and rear spoilers, and their effects....somewhere I saw earlier a chart with "down forces" created by both and ea individual...like front only, rear only and both ,at different speeds,... anyone know what I `m talking about? if so, you have it handy?

What are the numbers for a convertible at 150 mph, top up, top down, same spoilers?

Reason I'm asking is that most tests I've seen were done with the Camaro (Z/28) style chin spoiler, and Camaro ducktail rear spoiler. I noticed Bjorn has a 69, and the 69 Trans Am rear wing (and accompanying 69 Trans Am flat front spoiler) would have different downforces.

Pontiac claimed 100 lbs of downforce at 100 mph with the '69 TA rear spoiler, but independent tests showed about 50, with 28 lbs of lift at the front.

Asking for myself alone: Do I really need any kind of front/rear spoilers if any kind of high speed driving is strictly on the highway? I suspect the answer is a big "No" but maybe I'm missing something. Cosmetics: That's another issue. If you like the look then by all means go for it!

and Smitty, Yes I felt a great improvement of steering at 85-90 mph (which I dont consider too high for "normal driving" , normal roads/hwy`s) after adding the front "snowplow", my car came with the rear `Maro spoiler when I bought it...

After adding front and rear 'maro spoilers to my car, the car had a VERY NOTICEABLE difference on the road at 50mph. It seemed more planted, especially the front end. Highly recommended. But then again, that front spoiler is tough to avoid scraping on stuff, and the rear spoiler requires drilling a whole bunch of holes in your trunk lid... so perhaps just adding a cheap front spoiler is the best way to go without taking out the ol' drill!
