Karl , I checked Y.O. catalog , they say: MASTER CYLINDERS : 1969 with manual and or power drums
and for rebuild kits ; 1967-69 with power front drum and 1968-69 w/ manual front disc brakes w/ 1 1/8" bore diameter...NG501 1969 w/ manual or power front drum brakes...NG497 hope this may help some... Bjorn
I just looked for one for my 69. The master cylinder looks the same but the manual one has the rod stiking out to go to brake pedal, the power one does not. I could not get one with the rod. I do not know if it can be interchanged. Pete
According to my '68 Pontiac sevice manual the Firebird used the same master cylinder for power or non-power dics brakes. Performance Years now offers a new bathtub style master cylinders for 67-8 Firebirds, GTO.
most brake parts are still available from your local parts houses.i just bought a set of loaded calipers and front brake hoses from auto zone.calipers loaded=54.00 a pair,,,hoses=20.00 each.also picked up 2 new rotors for 40.00 each elsewhere.
