69 all-fiberglass TA hoods are junk IMO. Every one I've seen has a huge bulge that makes it stick up over the fenders. The fiberglass on metal frame TA hoods are of much higher quality.
I can't speak to the quality of 400/350 fiberglass hoods. Like the fiberglass TA hoods, I'm sure you can cut out the fiberglass where the hood latch goes if desired, but I'd use hood pins to be safe.
i have the raised bird hood in fiberglass. i called the manufacturer and they told me pins only because theres no metal reinforcment in the hoods. i'd go with pins to be safe as well. if you go fiberglass you'll need spring that rnt so stiff because the hinges wont have to support as much weight as they would with the steels. if you keep the steel springs you'll crack the fiberglass kicking yourself in the @$$ afterwards!

i have a fibreglass 400 hood with a metal frame, came on the car when i bought it last year.id rather have a steel hood,as this one sits higher at the front and a has a poor fit at the back.i have no hood springs and the hood is held up with a old fashioned steel rod .i also have hood pins but but don't like them.a steel hood is on my list of things to change.
