Been thinking of having my (reproduction) Long Branch manifolds chrome plated. Hopefully to help keep them from rusting too badly. Anyone try this? Or will they end up looking like crap? (I have access to a place with a chrome plating line so I can get it done for little or nothing.)

Chroming the manifolds will be nice until you start the motor. After a short time the chrome will turn colors, mostly gold and blue. And get’em hot enough the chrome may flake off.
Ideally yea, that would be the way to go. But since I can get them chromed for free I was thinking of doing that. I figured they would discolor some but don't know how much. I have ceramic coated headers on one of my other cars, and after just two seasons there is rust coming through on them already. I was thinking the chrome might look better than rust after the paint burns off,
