1990 I learned that catching your foot in a "stirrup" type root , while riding dirt bike in the forest(and just touching ground for a second to keep balance), will break your knee....)(3 - 1.5 " screws hold it together well though)
Worst part is not being able to work on the car. So far I've got the wife to bring in little things to work on, maybe I can get into the garage later. Soaking Carbs in the kitchen sink will only cause more pain.

The Peroneus Brevis Tendon on the left foot decided to see what was on the other side of the ankle it was attached to. Right foot is in tact, barely as the doc said, but it's very, very sore and is in a brace for a week or so to prevent any further problems. Left foot has several issues. Soft cast for several weeks, then another MRI to check healing vs Surgery. I'm hoping healing as the recovery time from surgery is long. Doc's optimistic as the Tendons are still attached on the ends, just pulled loose in the middle. He showed me some surgery (linquine) pics to explain what's happened. Today's the first day I've actually felt pain in specific areas. From the knees down was all one big pain so I had no idea what was really hurt. I DO NOW!!! I guess the achilles being intact is the best news from it all, that was the first thing I checked after getting back in the boat and found my left foot didn't work. Bad news is my Bird is a stick.

Not only does it suck taking a shower with a cast, it's a real PITA when you get that inaccessible itch! Get well Brad, and enjoy the pampering if any.
Well, here's on admission for the mix, pulled my rear disk off the bird to see why I was getting a grinding noise with a new disk brake set up....well, must have been a late night putting that one together, one pad was in backwards...aka metal to metal...the guy this morning at the brake where I took the rotor in to get turned shop nearly laughed his bag off....
I think snapping my Crucial ligament snowmobiling this winter was less painfull!!!

I lived in downtown Toronto for 10 years before starting a family and moving to the burbs 6 years ago.
Toronto traffic is brutal but I miss it. My days now are filled with soccer moms taking FOREVER to get through a 4-way stop. Toronto traffic is fast and unforgiving. Maybe I just got used to it.

Nash, it's way worse than when you got out of Dodge. They now charge you $75 if they auto-photograph your front bumper crosses the painted white line on a red signal. They call it red light running, but not a single person I saw in court the day I went had even entered the intersection. Those two feet over paid up. It's just another taxation method here in Maryland. Maryland gov't abuse at it's best. In Baltimore, they set the cameras at 3.3 seconds for a while, making it impossible to stop if you hit the signal at the wrong time. They are now four seconds, still not adequate if the measure of "red light running" is to stop at the painted line rather than to procede through the intersection.
I-270 speed limit is 55 MPH. The current speed is 70-80 until it jams up. You can't get this much traffic through that road at 55 MPH, so it's not enforced so far. So you either keep up with traffic and are doing wreckless if you get ticked or you ride behind the cellphone drivers in the right lane.
Since this is three things I learned post...
1) Never make eye contact 2) Never challenge a road rage guy, get out of his way. His day is way worse than yours and you want to keep it that way. 3) Don't post after the fifth glass from the fifth.
I did the Beltway in a rental car a couple of years ago, Reagan Airport to Baltimore and back, it was just like driving in Atlanta or Miami or I-696 near Detroit. Crowded, fast, and furious. I was driving and sightseeing and map reading simultaneously.
At least here in Detroit our traffic infractions have a face to face encounter. We can plead our case at the scene, which is a whole lot more satisfying than a ticket in the mail.

I grew up in Rockville in the 60s and 70s, I understand. They've added lanes everywhere but the basic problems of the 60s-70s haven't gone away even today. Too many people driving around DC!!!

Man, I hear ya my friend! Back in the old days Geoff had about a 24-hour period where you could delete or clear the previous nights ramblings and "incorrectly worded" posts. I made use of that option many times.
Now its locked into stone about an hour or two after you type and post. That new rule has changed alot of things here, but probably for the better, eh?

If you know the right people, there are ways around that!
Hey All, Been busy lately working on the 68 Vert. 3 things i learned this weekend. 1. Dont let your buddy use your bench grinder for a project. His was aluminum. 2. Never wear a all cotton shirt when welding.
3. Just because it says OEM fit doesnt mean it will fit.
Yeppers Nash, Finally got the toe boards welded in. Have the one piece floor sitting in the hole but not welded in yet. Thought it would be wise to get the subframe repaired before i weld the floor in. All my luck would to be a half ince off on the rear frame mount and the mounting nut on the floor. Looks like Aug i will be heading to Campbell for the sim. Im going for moral support and beer runner. Other than that all is well here in the CH47D world. Missed the users conferance, hope to make it next year.
