I was talking to Jeff at work about an up coming motorcycle trip to the TN, NC & GA area in Sept; the subject of the AMA Vintage days came up. That got me thinking of getting the bike he sold me ready for the short trip to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. http://www.midohio.com/
My '73 Honda CL350 has been sitting in my living room for two years without being ridden. So I moved things around and took it out, fueled it up and hit the starter button. It fired right up, w'ho! I do have fuel weeping past the fuel bowl gaskets, so I will have to get that taken care of. No big deal.
If you have not seen any racing at Mi-Ohio, motorcycle racing is a must see. I'm not sure if Speed Channel will broadcast the Vintage Days, but almost certain the Super Bike race will the following weekend. The spot to be watching is turns 12 and 13 the "Carousel". All I can say after seeing these racers carving those corners, they must have balls made of titanium or better yet, carbon fiber.
My brother is finally returning my 72 Honda 750 Four (remember...metalflake orange!)to me, I bought it new in 72, sold it to my brother in 78, he drove it till about 82, then it has sat in his garage for the last 25 years, still in mint condition. Will definately have to strip the motor down and reseal etc..but will restore everything.
I have decided to make it my next restoration project now that I have talked him back out of it (after he saw what I did with the 'bird)
I recall I had a CL350 as well before that, can't remember the year but believe it was a 69? it was in rough shape tho...

If6... you brought back many pleasant memories. We (my brothers, dad, and I) shared a 72 CL350, gold tank instead of blue. That bike and my 68 Sprint convertible got me many dates from the local all girls' high school. I was almost squished by an 18-wheeler on the Edens Expressway here in Chicago and gave up bike riding. I consider my 68 bird a bike with training wheels. We used to have two TS-50s and a Sachs DKW 125 with a huge front fork.
I had a 71 CL-350 when I was in high school. It was orange in color. It is nice to see one again. I had a lot of fun on it. I did a lot of stupid things on it. I'm not going to get into that right now. LOL.
Classic birds all the way! Like Rock and Roll, they're here to stay!
