HO's and RA III's are not as collectable as some may assume. $10k to buy it and then $20K to restore it. You have $30K into a car that's maybe worth...... $30K.....
Me either. When I know a fact I'm not afraid to share it. I'm 100% positive that 62's were factory installed on some 1969 Firebird 400 cars that didn't have air conditioning. They probably ran out of 16's or the 62's were just a little more 'handy'. The only difference was that the 62's had a few extra bolt holes on the front for brackets.
62's were also 5-10 CC's larger in the chambers. I have 2 sets on the shelf, sold a set to Tom Mayhugh and have cc's probably 10-15 other sets. They all cc's out at 77-82.
Thus the A/C application.
I am sure your proof is indesputable, like nothing else was in the mix from 40 years ago.
Give me a break regarding your "proof".
And to be honest, prove your point allmighty Pontiac God...I have a life I have to get back to.

Like I said. I personally have proof that #62 coded heads were factory installed on at least one non factory air conditioned Firebird 400 in 1969. When there's one there is more than one..... Undoubtedly. And there's a lot of other owners that claim it too. The car that is my proof is a very low mileage car that is documented in every way. One owner. Pictures. ProTecto Plate. Build sheet. PHS. Original title. Perfectly dated heads. And the best part, the owner didn't even have a clue about it. He had zero reason to swap the heads. Zero reason to hide anything. It is definitely a fact that the car had 62's from the factory and no air conditioning.
Rotted out '69 400 HO that may, per seller's revised description, not have correct heads, is not worth much more than a standard 400 Firebird. 499 built per PHS (auto), 1498 manual. Those figures are combined RA III/HO.
