hi i would like to know if this part is ok for 69. Delco Remy 875-12V It doesn't work on the car but on bench test it works fine except that the wire in the car are mix up . Is my wiriing [censored] up or it is not the good relay.because wires do not hook up at the good place on the terminals of the relay
Second question the pink wire is suppose to give ground to the relay when key is on and door open??? and it is not working is there a contact in ignition switch???
last question i have a green for horn a pink for key one black and one brown, is it suppose to be 2 black???
I'll try my best to help you out here. 69 Firebird horn relays are unique and hard to find. I'm not sure what an 875 is. I used a 69 Cadillac relay on my black vert because I got a good deal on an NOS and it was a close match. Wiring: You have a larger black wire that is black with a single red stripe that gives power to the relay. It goes in the center tab on both the Caddy and Bird relays. You have the dark green wire and the black wire that go for the horns and they connect towards the bottom or far left depending on if it's mounted. Then you have the black with pink stirpe that activates the key buzzer. It's on the top or far right. Hope this helps!
Jim's right about the wires and placement of. If you have any power options like seat, windows or top they will use this relay. It's connected by one of those jumper connectors.
Yup. An orange wire jumper that the heavy black with pink wire plugs into. I've got a pic floating around here if you need it.... Here's the pic: As you can see I have the buzzer unhooked. I had to bend the prongs a little to adapt from the way they are for a 69 Cadillac.
thank for rapid response. i started to fix the wires. the power and horn wires where cut and inverse when repairand the color was change. I still dont have battery voltage on the black wire (Center pins). I look on the schematic and power seam to come directly from the battery and wires seam to be splice togetther. Any idea where is that splice located or where the wire is routed.
