I have a TH400 tranny rebuilt with new torque converter ready to mount to a 400 engine. If I choose to bolt the tranny up to my existing 350 engine, do I only have to swap out the torque converter? If so, how difficult is that? I have been told it is easy to destroy the seal while trying to seat the converter.

No, you don't have to swap the torque convertor. You can bolt your rebuilt trans and torque convertor right up to your existing 350.
The tranny is from a 68, and I have a new driveshaft, kickdown from Lokar, and new crossmember. That should not be a problem.
When I had the tranny rebuilt, I was asked what size engine the tranny was bolting to. I thought there would be a performance issue running a 350ci with a 400 converter.
Nope. None. Bolt it up and you are good to go..... Of course you will have better performance when you eventually get your 400 in there. To be 100% positive about what the convertor may do you would have to ask your tranny guy. The size of your engine wouldn't be the most important factor with the convertor anyway.
a th400 convertor is different than a th350 convertor. you need to make sure you have the correct convertor for the transmission you are using! the engine size wont make much difference as the bolt patterns are standard!

Driveshaft is also different.
Kickdown is different.
Crossmember is different.

due to budget cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been disconnected for non payment.
Yes, Tom is correct. That was the question at hand. I now know that I can use the rebuilt TH400 w/ 400 torque converter together with the 350 motor. Thanks guys, now I can really get everything out of that 3:55 posi.
