Hey guys,

I feel kind of weird asking this question but it does involve a firebird. I need to buy some soft racks for my firebird that i can put on and take off when i go surfing which is soon to be all the time. i was wondering if anyone has looked at all into this or any rack at all for their car? hopefully 1 out of the 1,000 has.

One word - Yakima

I believe you are going to to want a basic roof rack for a car with rain gutters (1A) and then add pads and straps. Go Internet surfing DUDE! That's how I found this.

Seriously - I have had Yakima ski racks and that's the only company I would deal with.

Definitely Yakima...great products. I use them for bikes in the past.

Steve, Yakama, or Tule would be the best bet.

They are both about the same... I like the square tubes on the Tule myself for my Bike racks, but for boards the round ones of the Yakama would work maybe better?

**** .. I've hardly been surfing since I left the Bay area... used to surf Half Moon Bay, and Santa Cruiz now and then... and Mission Beach in San Diego... now only in my dreams...

Anyway, you can get the basic mounts for the drip rails, and the cross bars you can cut to the needed length... good luck, and watch ebay once you find the right model for the mounts!
