Had a new headliner which we supplied installed in our 68. The shop cut it off too short and it won't stay up around the rear window. Any suggestions on how to repair it? LIZ
When we picked it up the installer said we could bring it back and he would restretch it for us but I don't know if they offer a guarantee. It looks wrinkly and one of the sail panels isn't properly attached, not to mention the hole cut out of the rear corner. ;-( Liz
That's the trickiest part that they screwed up. The most time consuming to get it right. I would ask them to fix it right, if not, take some pictures and head on over to small claims court.....
I'd start over. Get new material...then go elsewhere.
The way I see it, you can't fix the problem as it exists now, as it sounds like some material has been removed that's needed to cover some areas. Get new stock and then let a pro install it.
That's just my opinion. You'll be out some bucks but it'll be done right. And you could always still pursue reimbursement as Jim suggests.
