Where the hell does everyone keep coming up with it needs a choke; otherwise, it will take forever to run. A properly running engine will run fine without a choke.

My car has never had a choke, and its predessor dated back to 1979, when it was upgraded to a 4bbl, and I have never had a cold run problem.

I can put in gear and drive it away within a few seconds of starting it.
