I am trying to find out if there are supposed to be two sets of #'s stamped on the block of my 1969 Firebird.
On the RH front of the block, just below the cylinder heads, I find this:
0359996 YT
I assume this to be my engine ID/Serial # - right?
What about the VIN # on the engine? These #'s are not part of my VIN. PHS says there is the number 2 followed by the last eight characters of the VIN. Where do I find this?
This site says that there is an engine ID and a separate VIN stamped "on the right of the timing chain cover."
Do others find both sets of #'s on their '69's?
Any help solving this and finding the VIN #'s on the engine would be much appreciated!
