someone probably removed the hook. it should have been sticking up about a quarter inch from the trans when you took the housing off--unless the th350 incorporates the hook to the cable, which i s'pose is possible. if you have a new cable, look at the end. if it has an eylet, you need to buy a hook. your local trans shop may have a few extras lying around if you ask the technicians. they are usually very helpful. i looked around on the net for an exploded diagram of the 350, but i cant find one. i really dont know that much about transmissions. i did a transaxle in school a long time ago, and had a couple of 2 speed forklift trans apart, but that's it.
