The name of the car depends on the condition of it: my favorite was my first car, a '66 Mustang Conv...called it the Flintstang because the floor boards were totally rotted out and I could have powered it like the Flintstones did their cars
Definitely start with mechanical squeaks and squeals...they can be dangerous. I bought my car off of Ebay (not unseen though; I did plenty of inspection on it) and after only a few miles it developed some squeaking in the driver rear wheel area. It turned out to be a seized bearing that was eating up the axle.
