Sounds like an easy adjustment. At least it's worth a try. Take a look at the linkage arm where it hooks to the trans and you will see a slotted hole where you can adjust the linkage. Loosen up the 3/8 nut and push the linkage a little further forward until it stops then tighten the nut back up...
