This is what mine looks like. It is shorter than the ones above and completely inside the cardboard tube. It is original to my car and has never been opened. As with a lot of the accessories found on our cars, I'm sure GM used what was available at the time of manufacturing.

I also have one similar in detentions to the first picture, but it is blue in color. It came out of a '67 camaro. Not sure it was original to that car.
