Yes, I had a K car or three. The K car was a much better car than most people give it credit for. I thrashed my almost new '82 Reliant with the heavy duty suspension around the local track for four hours, keeping up with Alfas, race prepped Datsuns, Trans Ams and Corvettes. It was a very tough car. Sure it had some rattles but it handled well, had decent power and fuel economy and was great in snow.
I had fun with a Toyota Celica with my '81 Reliant station wagon with the 4 on the floor while climbing through the mountains. One particularly steep hill had him shifting back and forth trying to keep up with me while I held third gear and gradually drove away. Of course I did install the "G" head, ported, with the right intake, prepped carb and recurved distributor.
The K car platform was used for the Caravan. Pretty successful line!
