Not if you knew what you were doing. I changed a few spark plugs in my '75 Monza with the 327 4 barrel that replaced the 262cid dud. reasonably quick but no match for my Firebird.
Uh, Sheri, you'd better check that vehicle weight again. My H-body Cosworth Vega with the all aluminum 4 banger weighs in at 2700 lbs, which is less than an iron block V-8 H-body weighs. I think adding at least 1000 lbs more to your number would get you close!
Yeah your right about the weight. For some reason I had 1800 lbs in my head but it is closer to 2700lbs. I think I was thinking of the Nissan I had or I could be totally wrong on both. I think the spark plug problem was on the later H-bodies but I'm not sure. I really don't remember much how that engine was setup. No the Monza wasn't as quick as the Firebirds. Actually, I don't remember racing any Pontiacs, just Chevy Camaros and Novas. Yeah there was some fast cars that could beat it but I had a lot of fun with the ones that didn't.
