Also the body tag will have a 50 50 paint code. Can't recall if the body tag has additional T/A package info.
This isn't true on the ragtops. Could be black top, blue top, or white top, so only code 50 (bottom) is required. For the hardtops, the 50 50 paint code is mandatory (white/white).
I have the 8 VIN's too, they are well known, but all 8 ragtop T/A's have been accounted for. The 8th was found years ago. Again, the body tag will tell you right away. If it's a ragtop, with a D80 on the tag, it's real. Now he could be one of these guys that drives his car occasionally, but I would say the odds are pretty good it's a clone.
