I used to have a little sign that we would display on our Bird. It read: "This car was purchased, restored and maintained with money that was never spent on smoking". As my wife nor I have EVER smoked in our entire lives. This came about one time when we were talking to friends of ours at the time.

They asked us one night, "how can you guys afford to have such a nice classic car"? This from a couple where both were heavy smokers. I simply said to them, well, if you took the money that you and your wife piss away on cigarettes, and I began to do the simple math for them, I said, see, we choose this as a hobby and you choose that. After that night we have to this very day, never heard from them again. Honest & true story...
