No stripe would have come by default on a '67 400 convertible. A rally stripe was an option; it was like the HO stripe or Sprint stripe, but did not say HO or Sprint. The available colors were white, red and black.
Attached is the '67 Master Order as published 1/67. Dealers did not discard their old pads as soon as a new one was issued; I have seen '67 Firebirds ordered in March of '67 ordered on early '66 pads. Because of this, options on the vintage order sheets changed. The one attached is the one sent by PHS for '67 Firebirds.
491 is the Rally Stripe. The 491 applied to a 334 option would not be the same stripe as the 491 on a Sprint or any other Firebird.
Yes, the hood mounted tach could be ordered without Rally gauges, but was also included with the Rally gauge package on '67 only. Most cars equipped with Rally gauges and/or hood tach were manual transmission cars, but not all.
