I like the car port design. This is my second 3 car garage with 1 double & 1 single door. I prefer the double but if you were just parking 3 cars then 3 singles might be better.
Go big depth and width. I would go 3.5 bays wide for a 3 car garage so you have area to use not in the path of a car.
