I made a sample shoot on cardboard, coated with the bedliner and the spatter just as the real thing. A little water made a murky puddle that wiped the color right off. The bedliner, of course, stayed intact.
I'll try sealing it and see if it's worthwhile, or if my $30 spatter job was a "wash".
At least my rear bumper installation came out well.
