They do make a bracket that bolts right to the carb flange, it's chrome and adjustable and you can use it for the springs too. I use it because I have a detent cable and 67 had electric kickdown switches and a rod for the throttle, I removed the Powerglide and installed a TH350 and had an Edelbrock 1405 carb. on top of it.
