A bit of background - with the mono springs and both shocks on the same side of the axle, both Chebby and Pontiac found both cars had a LOT of wheel hop with high HP. Both companies put factory traction bars on the cars - "I" beam style for Firbirds and round style for Camaros
The change for the '68 model year to multi-leaf springs and staggered shocks negated the need for factory traction bars so none were installed.
