The dash pad that was on my 68 Firebird when I bought it serveral years ago was in very bad shape. I found out later on that it was a poor aftermatket dash pad with a very bad fit. For some reason, the middle of the dash pad over the center AC vent was not secured to the metal dash frame behind it. Seemed like there was moulding missing to hold it down. So, recently I ordered an OER urethene dash pad to replace it. The OER dash pad fits ok, but the bottom area over the center AC vent is molded different than the one I took out. There is a flat channel about 3/4" wide that goes from the drivers side headlight switch and ends at the right side of the center AC vent. Does anyone ave any idea what type of moulding goes there? I have checked on line and cannot find what type of mouldings I need to finish it off. I may return the dash pad if I cannot figure this out soon. Any help is greatly appreciated.
