Ordy and Salmon, car looks like it has been fully setup for 4 speeds.... I've found it has a Bowler Lockup Control Module on the tranny and it looks to have a 4 Speed Overdrive kit... the shift lever input at the transmission end has Shiftworks stamped on it and the shift indicator has the D with a square around it.
Now that I know it has the overdrive capability I'll have a play with the shifter next time I drive it to see if the mechanical linkage is out of adjustment.
This explains why I always thought it needed a different diff ratio, lol.
AusBird, sounds like you got it narrowed down now to the linkage or cable. Good luck on the adjustment, should be easy though!
