Digging into why my coolant temp sometimes exceeds 240F in stop-n-go traffic. For now, Im assuming the after market gauge is close enough to be accurate. Radiator was a bit low. Flushed and filled entire cooling system. All seems good but have yet to find stop-n-go traffic. Temp = 180-200F in 30 - 60 mph moving traffic.
I found an electric fan in front of rad. Doesn't seem to work automatically or find a switch for it. I am electrically challenged at times, so please be nice(smile). Ohm meter on fan shows zero ohms, fan should be ok...correct? 2 wires from fan. One goes to batt ground, wire ohms at zero. One goes to fuse box inside firewall, 3rd spade from top. I get no power here. Is this spade powered via ignition key? This wire ohms at zero also.
Rigged up some 12ga wire, fan does move when connected directly to battery.
