OK so here's the problem...

I just put in a new HEI in my 67 fgf
She starts fine idles just like a dream,
But when I drop her in drive she surges and the engine races like mad! Id doesnt do it in reverse park or neutral. If you dont have your foot planted firm on the brakes she'll go flying! Any ideas guys?

I tried disconnecting the vacuum lines. Its clearly not a carb issue. She ran just fine before with points...

The block is a '70 400
with a 3spd Auto on the column
edelbrock intake and a 600 holley
with an electric choke
