In a nutshell. Edelbrock (came with car not sure of unit type)(sits on a torker btw). Car idles fast (can't seem to lower the idle unless i set the timing too low)..terrible gas mileage and then something wierd. The car wants to stop running when I almost close the hood. Raise the hood...idles again. Nothing is touching the carb and have air cleaner off. I've set the timing and adjusted the screws on the carb (the old fashioned way..run one in and one all the way out..yadda yadda). The vaccuum on the carb reads around 17lbs. Thoughts anyone? My thinking is that the carb is shot and and I'm having to over fuel so when I close the hood it's oxygen starved..
