All those (older at least) cars were made w/ column shifter , when you got the console shifter it only linked to the col. shifter set up.. , so in fact your col. shifter is being shifted by the comnsole shifter.For ALL the things to work properly you need the full col. shifter set up... I am missing the linkage and have it 'rigged' to work on my 69... Bjorn
