I had my car out for the first time in many months over the weekend, and it was running extremely rough and died several times. Here's the lowdown.
Car was running great several months ago, then wouldn't start at all. Took off the fuel line and wasn't getting any fuel at all, so I replaced the fuel pump with a new one from the auto parts store. The car started right up, so I figured it was fine (but I didn't drive it).
Over the weekend, though it started pretty easily, it felt like it was only getting power in quick 1/2 second surges (followed by 1/2 second sputters).
So my question is: Is it possible I got a bad fuel pump, or installed it wrong? Or anything else I might look at. Also it's a Holley 600 carb... maybe change the internal gas filter (I think these carbs have a filter in them???)
