I would look at the inline filters first, then after the gas tank. If the car sat for a period, may have condensation and water in the gas or the tank has crud in it which is causing restrictions in the fuel lines.

Possible to get a bad fuel pump? yes, likely no. When a new fuel pump fails it usually leaks rel bad into the crankcase.

Maybe check the cam eccentric for the fuel pump lever. Well, not that, maybe the cam eccentric is loose or worn.. long shot.
