As I read and remembering what I had seen, I stopped to break out the bible, an origional press 69 Pontiac Service Manual, covering Grand Prix, Tempest, and Friebirds. As Brett mentions, and as stated in the manual, the dual stage cleaner is the element, not the snorkel.
Page 6B-1 states that the "dual snorkel is used on all atandard GTO's." All air breathers are shown for the 69--from 6B-1 through 6B-4--and there are no dual snorkels on Firebirds.
That's okay! If not being the "correct" breather bothers you, I'll take it because as long as it looks good, I don't mind incorrect stuff on the car.
