I saw my old KC-135 and B-1 bombers. The B-1s were so loud they would shake the pictures off the walls! I see you still can't get close to the Stealth bomber. When I saw them 11 years ago they were heavily guarded and they would cover the cockpit with a blanket so you couldn't see in and I had a top secret clearance! I'm sure the Thunderbirds were cool even though they are named after a Ford!
The B-1 you could get close to. We have a picture of the rear of the turbines and of the underneath in the bomb bay compartments. The stealth 117 you can't get close to.

Very nice. Thanks. What acft was that you guys were in with the long panel of equipment and the black seats? It was nice and roomie, unlike the inside of the B-52, but at least we have ejection seats. The B-52 at that airshow was one from the FTU (training unit) here. I was surprised to see an F-35 there. That's the next highly specialized plane to take money from the ever-versatile B-52...
We believe it is a converted C-130 that handles the block buster bombs. The bomb in the picture is sitting next to it. It also has a filler nozzle coming down from the left outside engine. The C-130 next to it has the same fuel nozzle. We like your pictures of the B-52.
Scott, you're quite welcome. Glad you enjoyed the pictures.

After 24 years I just retired out of the USAF this past Friday. Thanks for the pics! :P
Thanks for your service, Smitty. Congrats on retirement! Lots of more time to work on your FB, now? ...Or lots more resources to spend on it with that retirement check.
Cool! I'll bet some of those P-51's were here in Columbus a short time ago for the Gathering of Mustangs. Looks like you got to see the new F-22 Raptor work out. We saw it here to. That's one impressive aircraft!
Now thats an impressive task force! Three flat tops, a couple of cruisers and subs, with the back bone of the Navy... (DE) Destroyer Escorts. I'm sure that was just a small part of the air operation.
The pilot of this Raptor was a very exceptional pilot. This pilot did things with this jet we didn't think were possible. The pilot took the jet straight up and instead of doing a loop, the plane rolled over backwards and came back to a horizontal position with the belly down and floated straight down and then just gradually took off. You would have sworn the Raptor was suspended in the air. We've never seen anybody fly a plane like that before. Wish we could have had a video of it so that you could have seen it. It was so awesome!
