Z_, LOLOLOL I actually have two of them from AMES a few years back. I ordered one, realized I did not need it and then later ordered another by mistake. They are in the same bag no less. Guess I will dig them out and Ebay them ASAP!
The equivalent part for a set of E-heads is made out of brass.
The local Firebird club members wanted to see my pair of brass nipples.
2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement 2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered. 2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI
They sell at the local auto parts store for $19 and are in stock. Vikki knows the link and supplier..That is a $140 alternative. You just have to look. Nad nobody needs an NOS nipple for any reason...not even for judging. That is asenine.

Yes, I've heard this story about them being at local autoparts stores. I think thats just firebird urban legend becasue nobody has actually delivered one. What does the Pepsi ad say? - oh ya - WAKEUP PEOPLE! Stop telling people they are available localy when they are not. I'll ask again, what is a viable alternative?

Since I build Pontiac heads and have been for say, 10 years, I KNOW they are available locally and at auto parts stores. I have personally ordered them through the supplier and were not GM, but a USA made part. How else are these Pontiac head rebuilders pumping out heads? I highly doubt anyone is going to pay $160 for a part for a set of heads. A set of Ferrea valves cost $170.
Stop telling people they are available locally when they are not? They ARE available...at least they were 3 weeks ago.

I got what I needed today for the right price thanks to Jim. Thank you Jim.
Bulter was out of these a while ago.
I was told that the part is being remanufactured and Classic Industries said they will get some in two weeks - at least that's what the guy said. The other contact Jim gave said they are being remanufactured now as well.
As far as finding the secret tree that grows these in Detroit, I've burned that bridge after I was told today the secret was Autozone and NAPA stores. Next time I'll remember that one, thanks. Note to self, for auto part, go to an auto parts store - got it .
Parts are not so "secret" if you know who to ask and what to ask for..Note to self..
That is what is so "funny" about the "secret". Call and ask, no luck, look online, no luck. take a part to NAPA or "The zone" and you can get what you need.
It is all about asking nicely without sarchasm and attitude. You can call Jim at Autozone on Trenton rd in Southgate or Lance at NAPA on Ecorse rd in Romulus. NO, the parts ARE NOT in the catalog, but if you take a picture of the part or better yet, the part itself into these establishments mentioned, they do have resources.
Note to self...
Again, it is all about a good attitude and being positive and not sarchastic or otherwise rude. I have a good rapport with a few select people with resources that are willing to go the extra mile. It is a good attribute to have.
PS,if you did a Google search on "Pontiac head nipple", the first or second listing is for Dave at Super Duty. Not so hard if you really needthe part and not window shopping.

youngdw, you could have had the same part for half the price. That you slammed the idea that they were available lost my interest very quickly. Why should I "deliver" one when I don't need to buy one? I get them from my engine builder for a couple bucks a piece. Maybe I am a little more resourceful.
PartsAmerica carries this item for 10.99. The Butler one is prettier.

I won't lose sleep over spending a few bucks more than I could have for this (although I got the pretty one:). It's not the first time and won't be the last time I over paid a little for an item. The negative tone in any of my messages was not intentional and I'm fine with you not delivering - not looking to offend the titans of the board even if they seem to be on high horses sometimes.
even though there was a slight negative tone in your message(youngdw) that doesn't give others the right to drag you down.all they had to do was post their sources not play games.my two cents.
Anyone who can type can find these items on Google. It's not a secret, and I am busy enough that I can't spend much time helping those who don't make an effort to help themselves.
I was about to post the link when that "urban legend" comment was made. If everyone did as much for themselves as they asked of others, then shared that info, then it would be available for others to search.
Search? Too much trouble for some.
