Body is back from the media blaster (whoo hoo... clean steele!) what is the best product to coat the underside, floor and firewall with?
POR 15? Gloss, Satin, other? Lizardskin underneath? Hand brush or spray?
Suggestions welcome. Does seam sealer go on before or after paint?
Thanks!
Son and I have a garage project... no professional set up or tools.

I used GM Restoration Paint, or sometimes called Chassis Black. I don't have the can in front of me, but a quick search shows it to be GM part# 1050104. It can be hard to find and word is they changed the formula to be flatter than when I used it. This company appears to have it in stock and it's sold by the gallon: http://www.melroseheaders.com/

I just used a can primer underneath and after 8 years, it's holding up great. Spraying will get you the best results. I am not sure if this is correct if you're going for an accurate restore, but this should make it look nice.

Yep, Eastwood Chassis Blacks come in semi-gloss and gloss. Now there is a new "Extreme" version that is more resistant to solvents, brake fluid, chips and corrosion.

2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered.

Old projects, gone but not forgotten:

Please do not use POR. If your using it on a rusty surface then yes, but if you have a clean surface then definatly not. I used PPG epoxy primer and top coated it with a %60 gloss black while it was still tacky. Worked great.

Thanks for the responses. We decided on and ordered Eastwood extreme chassis black in semi-gloss. They are running a sale on the extreme version which is actually cheaper than the original.
Appreciate the info!
