I have a TH 400 from a '69 Bird...I seem to recall hearing that the dipstick and tube were Firebird specific...is true? I also seem to recall hearing that they could be pricey...like $150+...any opinions?
You will find that too many out there are for Chevy setups.
I got one that fit from Performance Years. It is not the same as original as the top of the dipstic is covered with red plastic. But it fit.

Yes, the th400 tube for firbirds is specific to the car. They are hard to find and pricey. We ended up with a $40 stainless flex and it works just fine.
Most use the Lokar units. I think I got mine from Fabulous Firebirds in Missouri, but I see their link no longer works.
OK, you don't specify which of the two above is the F-body stick...the silver one looks just like the one's I have looks Which I believe to be correct TH400 F-body dispstick tubes - does this look correct?
If it is a Firebird dipstick tube how much is it worth?
