We have a 68 vert with a 75 400 overbored 60. HEI dist. Heads are 73 4x. We are trying to figure out which plugs we should use (ACDelco 45tsx?) and which wires. Does anyone have recommendations? We hope to turn a key next month and dont want to mess up first ignition with assumtions. Thank you, Doug & Dustin
For wires you can use just about anything you want. I prefer the Moroso Blue Max Spiral Core wires. They come as a universal set for either standard or HEI (you put whatever end you need on the wire.)

For a street car there is no advantage in using aftermarket ignition wires. Don't hesitate to use factory (reproduction) wires if you want a stock look. Use spark plugs that are appropriate for you specific engine. You will have to dig in and undrstand your engine a little better before choosing plugs.
Called the shop that did our rebuild and they said to use plugs for a 69 400. So we'll try Autolite 86 plugs and use stock replacment wires. They said to gap the plugs for HEI. All we could find refernce on is .035 gap but beleive that is for a points type distributor. Would HEI be a different gap? More like .045? or even .050? Thanks for the suggestions
