Hi I've been coming here for some time, but just joined now that I've picked up pace on my Bird. I looked at the thread about parts companies but wanted to know personal experiences.
Who has the best sheetmetal? Price and/or fit? I have looked at Classic, NPD, the Paddock, and year one (does Year One seem expensive?)Any suggestions?
Also, just getting the body back from the blaster I've been trying to get a game plan. If I will be doing floors (RH & LH full pans), outer rockers, patching the inner rockers, inner/outer wheelhouses, full trunk, and quarters, what would be the most logical order in which to do them? I should mention that I had already bought quarter skins (i think they are goodmark) form a swap meet awhile ago.
I've never done a full restoration but I have metal fab experience. Mostly heavy steel fab, so sheet metal has definately been a learning experience.
Anyway I was thinking I would tackle the floors first.
Just checking to see if anyone had some advice. I wanted to order some sheetmetal pretty soon but I don't know where from. NPD has good prices but has anyone bought floors from them before?
Please use the search function available. This question has been asked and answered many times. There is also a FAQ section that may answer many of the other questions you may have.

The FAQ's are very helpful, I've been refering to them for awhile before I even joined. I'm still figuring out the best ways to search (keywords and in what forums).
Go in to advanced, and look at advanced search tips. Keywords you will have to play with, and which forums, well look at them and decide, fairly self explanitory. Good Luck

Thanks Dave. I wasn't actually asking which forums, I meant I was still figuring out what the different keywords get me in which forums.
Has anyone had good luck with the full length floor pans from Classic Ind? The ones for $59.95. Do those have that lip that turns down into the rocker, I couldn't find any info on that.
Seems like most people like Ames but the Classic ones have the firewall extension I need. Plus I have that 20% off coupon...
(I searched and didn't find a thread that answers that)
It should not make a difference where you get them. Classic and Ames carry very similar if not the exact same items.
It is my understanding they are actually 2 different pieces anyway (floor and 'foot rest/ firewall extension'). Not sure about the turn down portion. The quarter floor sections they sell do have them so I would assume the full length halves do too.
I would call Ames and discuss with them as they are MUCH closer to you than Classic is. They have very knowledgeable sales reps and probably will also save a ton on shipping. That's where Classic will usually get you, unless you place a very large order.

I called Ames and it turns out their full length pans do not include the toe panel but the Classic ones do. Pricey shipping though (as was told)
I read that dynacorn was good & I found a place close to me called Ground Up Restorations. Im thinking of going with them because I can pick them up and save shipping. I know this is probably a redundant question but I want to be sure; Camaro and Firebird floopans are exactly the same right?
