I have a 67 firebird that has a 400 from a 71 gto in it. It is suppose to have the original carb, intake etc. Does anyone know where I can look up codes? I already looked up motor and heads. need intake, carb, dist. exhuast manifolds. I want to get an idea what this may be worth as I would really like to get the correct wz 400 for my 67 firebird conv. Thanks,Tyson

Here's the place to find part numbers, casting and stamping codes for almost all Pontiac parts. Save this page to your favorites, you're going to to go there a lot. It works in reverse as well. You can also search by the part number, this will tell you what it came from. http://www.teufert.net/pontiac/page2.htm The block stampings for 1971 400 GTO are YS and WT. Do you also need to know where to look on the parts for the casting or stamping numbers? Q

Hi, thanks guys, info helped. the motor is a ys block. Where is the numbers on the intake? I think I found the rest alright.I had some trouble finding the carb numbers on the sight you pointed me two. it is a 7041540 mf. If you could help on that I would aprecciate it. The dist shows to be from a 1966 tri power 421. #'s 1111054 exhuast manifolds and alt. are from a 68 firebird. Thanks again,Tyson

The intake part number is across the top of the #3 runner, in front of the carb. I did not find a good picture of a 1971 intake, P/N 481733, but here's a picture of a 1972 intake: http://images.andale.com/f2/110/118/4817025/1082427614012_485912_1.JPG The 1972 P/N is: 485912, almost legible in that picture. 7041540 is a 1971 Buick 4 barrel, 455, Automatic trans. That's why it didn't appear on any pf the Pontiac pages. Q
