is there any reference info on how many 69's where antique gold? Seems to be a fairly rare color?

That's because they're all "resale red" now.

Yep, most got changed to another color. The color didn't hold up well if you didn't take care of it.

Funny how several of these cars were Vedoro Green (mine as well) originally, now they are all red. LOL I'm working with a painter now to figure out a time line and budget for a repaint back to Vedoro. Hopefully this winter...

I always thought so to, but one of my Pontiac parts catalog lists VERDERO green. Could be a misprint.

Actually every Firebird that left the factory from 67-69 was Verdoro green as the standard color. Anyone who wanted a different color could have the dealer change it at a considerable markup, which boosted their profits nicely. Only a few people took this option. In the early 80s, the Reagan administration was afraid that if the country went to war with Russia, the potential recruits of the era were too sissified, so, in order to increase the testosterone in young males, the administration signed into law the "tax credits for musclecar repaint" bill, which allowed a $500 tax credit to anyone under 30 who repainted their musclecar, provided it was painted red. It's a little known fact that that is how Earl Scheib and Miracle Auto Paint got their starts.

I'm not sure how rare the color was but it was also used on GTO's and Lemans, "Antique Gold Poly, PPG #2082" was also used on the wheels in 1969. There was also "April Gold Poly PPG#22942" used in 1968, and "Coronado Gold Poly PPG# 22728" that was used in 1967, spring color only, but rolled into 1968.
And for all you "GREEN GUYS" it is actually "VERDORO GREEN POLY" PPG# 43745, 1967 spring color, also used in 1968. I'm not even going to get into the REDS...unless you want me to

Thank you for not questioning my manhood. I could not see Quenton's 2nd photo (red x) so I did not catch the pink thing at 1st.
On the other hand, maybe Pink Mist would be a good idea for the LOGO Camaro GM is pushing (see Rumblings).

My car was blue when purchased and originally Verdoro Green. I'm going with a dark candy apple red, either the 2002 Corvette color or the Redfire color from 05-09 Mustangs.

Mine is House of Kolor Candy Red, they have some real nice Kandy colors, I sprayed it black first, then went over that with the Kandy red. I love spraying House of Kolor paint, and their clear coats are phenominal.

Ok, since someone has the stats somewhere, and Ive already had someone at a car show ask me and I couldnt answer it... (my cars in storage and I told him I had this)....
How many 69 verts were made, in California, with the Carousel Red color?
I know carousel red was more of a GTO color, but mine had the special paint color order.
..just curious...
