I can't believe it has been more than 30 years since "Hooper" came out.

greg,

I took it out over lunch and found a few more quirks:

1. Overall, it was very uncomfortable. I messed around with the seat for 5 minutes to get it even remotely comfortable.
2. It shifted very hard, almost a clunk between gears.
3. I think the radio is self-adjusting, so as you gained speed it went louder, and as you slowed down, it got quieter. It was very annoying. I think they would be better off just making the vehicle quieter.
4. Power was lacking, but I am used to a GTP, so I am likely spoiled.
5. Slamming the door was an adventure in vibration.

Overall, I am just more used to a larger car, so I felt a bit cramped.

I have been kicking around a GXP for a year, but now not sure with the exit of Pontiac.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

I know for one thing that new car radios come defaulted to radio volume adjusted for speed, but you can usually turn that off.

I hate it too.

I am also surprised - the G8 seems to get rave reviews by most.

It's usually a menu function. It will scroll through balance, fade, bass...

It should be in the owners manual.

I truely hate to hear of your dis-satisfaction. Although they are easily out of my price range, I had been under the impression they were really nice. Maybe you just got a hold of a bad one.
