I'm unable to get my astro vents in. When I'm done assembling I'm sticking out too far(about an inch too far) and I can't get the bezel in the dash. Am I missing a part or something? I have the vent, the elbow with flapper, bezel retainer, ball/bezel assembly.

Post a picture of what's going on if you can. I'm assuming the part that sticks out is the bezel? They did not fit very well from the factory and you have to finagle a little bit to get them just right.

It's a 68. Yes, the bezel sticks out too far.

It looks like you have the wrong piece that attaches to the dash (upper most piece).
It should be angled on both ends. That could be whats pushing it out too far.

Good pics Doug & Dustin! It does look like you don't have the correct pieces, maybe they're from a '69??

Here's a better picture of that vent piece. What about the bezel retainer(2nd from right in original picture) does that look right? Colorado68, I can get it to look just like yours does when assembled, but when I add that bezel retainer, it's too far out. I can't quite tell in the pic but it looks like you don't have that bezel retain in that picture?

I dont think that 2nd piece from the right belongs. We dont have it in ours.
Your angled piece is correct.

You're absolutely correct. It went together just fine without those pieces. Thanks for the pictures!!

Now I'm wondering why the parts houses sell those and say they go directly behind the bezel. Oh well, they were only $10 each.

Thanks again....Dan
