It appears there is an issue with the computer serving the Firebird-L mailing list software. I am pretty sure part of the board is fried and will need to search for some old equipment to run the server software. I do not have an eta.

and no way to send out info on the L list of course....
If I hear from anyone..I`ll let them know...

I still have not been able to resolve issue and ran out of time. It appears I am going to need to find a new computer to run the mailing list server software which is going to be a challenge as I can not run out and get it at a local store as I need to buy a used one with historical operating system. Can't complain too much as I believe this one is 10-15 years old which has been moded over years to run the software.

Will be ordering a used MacMini running 10.4.x by end of week if I can't resolve issue with network card on problem machine. Anyone with one laying around and would like to donate it or a nominal fee, let me know by Wednesday. Looking at the mini as what I am already using for my web server and would like to shrink my rack space down by not using a tower.

Still working on getting existing hardware working as I can not afford to buy new equipment at this time. No eta.

I have mailing list server loaded on a new used machine and the databases moved. I am receiving an error message from the list software which I am not sure how to correct. As the software is no longer supported, I am not encouraged I will find a solution to get the list back up. I will continue through the week.

It appears I have the mailing list back up and running. I will need to find a permanent replacement for the computer which died as using a temporary computer now. I have found a used one under $200 delivered to the door.

I am sure a couple people are scratching their heads and I hope they are not too upset. I accidentally started up the mailing list using the database back up from 2003. Oops

Geoff, I just started getting the mailing list on my roadrunner account.YAAA!!!!!!!!!

Jim, May have been only temporary to get the list at roadrunner but interesting the settings from 2003 may work for roadrunner. Let me know if it continues. I can not switch back to those old settings as too many other ISPs block relaying which was the old settings as I now have the server send directly. Crazy they do not allow direct sending even with everything mapped correctly and I have been using same domain since 1998.

L-list works for me now...
