Has anyone used one of these console saddles? I went on one leg of the Power Tour and really felt empty handed without a cup of coffee. I must say that from the picture, the drink holders look pretty lame, but something is better than nothing.
Has anyone used one of these? If so, what are your thoughts and where did you get it?
Thanks,

I wouldn't count on those cupholders for even a moderate cornering maneuver.
It is a step up above the "hang it over the door panel" style that I once had.

Wow, does that bring back memories. Used to even be able to keep an open beer bottle in them. Had one on both sides. Those where the days.

BTY, on real hot days, we drove with an ice cold beer between the legs to keep the cool Wernt considered a good 4 spd driver if you couldnt speed shift without one.

I have one. I purchased it from C.I. I also have a 4 speed. It works for me. I had to attach it to my stock console because it keep sliding around. I wanted it for an arm rest more than a drink holder.

Us more refined rednecks would cut the hook off and screw those to the dash or door panel for a more permanent arranagement. I'm looking for something for longer highway cruises and wouldn't trust this for anything more than a change holder under more aggressive conditions. I saw this advertised at a number of places. They all say '68-69 Camaro, but show a picture of the item on a '69 Firebird console.

Or trim'd them down and screwed inside the console.

I have one, Purchased it from CI. Works fine, just for one thing. I can't seem to fit it properly. I don't wanna mess with my console, so I just put the thing over it. When I brake or accelerate, sometimes it tends to shiftforward or backwards..
Other then that, no complains!

I have one in mine with a 4 speed and love it. I carry a bottle of water almost every time I drive it and have never had it come flying out.

One of those would be a stretch for guys like firebirdman and I being those purist kinda guys that we are. LOL I just always lay my bottled water on the floor behind the passenger's seat, seems to stay put if not, well then a real hard take off is in order!

I used to have a cheap plastic cupholder that clipped onto the door at the window. Most coffee cups fit into it. I used it with a couple vehicles. The only problem occured when I got hit from the side. Having the old '75 Ventura smashed in was bad enough but having a cup of hot coffee blasted across me was a special treat.

Use to be you didn't know how to drive untill you could handle a 4 speed while smoking and drinking a coffee! LOL In a '74 Vega GT, guilty! I bought a spill proof stainless steel coffee cup. And it truly is spill proof when the port is closed. http://www.trudeaucorp.com/us/products/t...ona-087137.htmlIt fits nicely between the seat and door panel in the 'birds. And it fits very snug in the Blazers cup holders.

Didn't someone make a cup-holder that slid into the ashtray mount? Do they still make those?

Do those really work? I checked and there should be enough room even with a manual shift.

Wouter: How is it supposed to mount? It just slides over the console, and since the console is not straight, but tends to get a bit wider, it is supposed to slide over and then get stuck, I think. But that doesn't really work. It still slides a bit when you get to a stop suddenly.. But I just anticipate t that, and it works fine. AND it gives a nice arm-rest while cruising! I'm quite happy with it..

I was referring to the ashtray cupholder. I believe 69 is different.
